History of Air Europa
Founded in 1986. At the beginning of its existence and until 1998, the company was called Air Espana and was part of the ILG-Air Group. The deal to become part of the Iberia franchise took place in 1998, and now Air Europa is part of Globalia Corporación Empresarial S.A. and is part of the SkyTeam group. For some time it was a subsidiary of Air Dominicana.
It completely retired the Boeing 767 series aircraft from its fleet in 2012 and now operates only a few variants of the Boeing 737 and Boeing 787 series. Popular destinations are domestic (Barcelona – Madrid, Barcelona – Palma) and the international flight Madrid – Lisbon.
