Baggage allowance on Air Europa

The company operates mainly Boeing 737 and 787 aircraft, but some flights are operated by ATR aircraft, so baggage requirements may change depending on which flight you choose.

Passengers on Air Europa flights are allowed to carry free checked baggage:

  • Business class – up to 32 kg.
  • Economy class – up to 23 kg.

When making a reservation, you can check in additional luggage at a premium discount that depends on your level in the SUMA loyalty program.

Extra baggage cannot be purchased on a number of domestic and international flights, including cross-Atlantic flights to the U.S. and South America.

Hand luggage

Air Europa passengers are prohibited from bringing the following items into the cabin:

  • Firearms and edged weapons and their equivalents (sharp objects, signal guns, scuba harpoons, crossbows and slingshots).
  • Any hand tools, including items for sports (baseball bats, skateboards, screwdrivers, portable torches, etc.).
  • Permitted liquids with a total volume of more than 1 liter in containers larger than 100 ml.
  • Any dangerous items, including personal vehicles. Hazardous items include lithium batteries, genetically modified organisms, magnets, e-cigarettes.

The following substances are prohibited in any form:

  • Explosives and flammables, including paint mixtures, solvents, detonators, grenades, alcohol, oils, adhesives, magnesium, coal, celluloid film.
  • Compressed and uncompressed gases of any nature (fire extinguishers, compressed oxygen for diving, lighter refills, insect repellents, nitrogen, acetylene, propane, butane).
  • Toxic and organic oxides and peroxides (insect and animal poisons, pesticides, contaminated biological materials, fertilizers and chlorates).
  • Radioactive and corrosive materials (isotopes for commercial use, acids, mercury, chlorine, batteries).

E-cigarettes are prohibited inside the cabin and may not be carried in luggage. This also applies to other types of devices with non-removable lithium-ion batteries with the exception of personal communication devices (smartphones, tablets and laptops).

Special conditions for special or non-standard baggage should be checked at the check-in desk at least 2 hours in advance. Valuables and jewelry can be declared separately for a fee of 15% of the value of the items.

Animal transportation

Air Europa allows the transportation of animals on all flights, provided that all necessary health and epidemiological regulations are met and the airline is notified at least 24 hours in advance.

Passengers are allowed to carry:

Additional conditions and restrictions on the transportation of pets:

  • More than 3 months old for long distance transportation.
  • They are in ventilated portable containers.
  • One container can hold no more than 3 animals of the same species.
  • Can be carried in the cabin for a surcharge (depends on the flight).
  • Cannot be transported in the cabin in XL seats or at the emergency exits.
